With the agreement just signed between One Italia and Televideocom, a definite turning point in the world of protected digital content distribution has been marked today. For the first time, it will be possible to extend the delivery of premium multimedia content on any fixed or mobile device using IOS operating system, Android 3.xx, Mac, Windows and Windows Phone 7.
Thanks to ActiveCloak technology, developed by the Dutch Company Irdeto, integrated to PlayReady DRM technology and Microsoft's Smooth Streaming, Televideocom is now able to extend the distribution of multimedia content in those operating systems until now not compatible and, thanks to the commercial action of One Italia, which operates in various markets including Brazil, Mexico and the United States, this revolution will be soon available worldwide.
It is at IBC fair in Amsterdam, the most important exhibition for professionals in the broadcast and video field, that the two companies announced their partnership. Televideocom, leader company in the distribution of multimedia content on demand, has chosen to bet on Italia One partnership, for its pluriannual experience in digital content and services building and managing for the main players in the mobile and web market. In fact, it will optimize a never seen before distribution platform, that can be extended on all operating systems in the market.
